We watched part of this weekend's BYU game at Nate's parents' house this Saturday. During half-time we made some Halloween cupcakes. I forgot to have Nate take pictures until about half-way through. Most of the cupcakes had been eaten before we took pictures. Keith had a cupcake to himself and it was the most adorable thing! Who knew watching someone eat could be so fun?
I have two younger siblings. Josh is 21 and Kelley is 19. Nate and I are definitely the coolest kids in my family, but we still hang out with Josh and Kelley every so often. Last year we made a haunted gingerbread house with them and we all had fun so we thought we would do it again this year. Truth be told, we will probably do it again next year too. Here are some of the pictures of our creativity.
This post is a little late. We've had these fall decorations up for a month or so now. We are just getting excited with all the nice cool temperatures and the fact that the holidays are just around the corner!
Often I post things that are going on with me, but here is what is new with Nathan:
I have a very happy husband at home. Last night he earned 100% on one of his finals, and he received a long awaited gift. My handsome husband is the proud owner of Windows 7 Ultimate. That's right folks, he's got it all installed and in use before you can even buy it, and Nate got it for free. I don't know how I am going to top this for his birthday or for Christmas. What do I get him now?
Today Nate told me, "I have been wearing my jacket all day and it is awesome." I think that quote says it all. Both Nate and I love fall and cool temperatures and obviously, we love jackets. Welcome Fall.
Nate has been sick on and off this week. Which is unusual, because he is rarely sick. Everyone knows that I work at the hospital, I care for sick people for a living, and I'd like to think that I am reasonably good at my job. Why doesn't that translate to the home setting? I do take care of Nate when he is sick but sometimes I am not as compassionate as I could be. Today I asked him if I could send him a bill? What was I thinking? I can't believe I said that! Any suggestions of how to be a better caretaker for Nate? Hopefully he gets feeling better soon, I don't like seeing him in pain.
Just found this great recipe site last night. Many people know that I am a pretty picky eater and this site actually has tons of recipes I really want to try. As the temperatures get cooler I enjoy cooking more and more. One of my goals for the year was to become a better baker and there are some great baking recipes that I am going try this weekend. Nate will be so excited!
I have zero patience. Honestly, I should be super patient. I've been given plenty of opportunities to learn and cultivate patience, especially with all of our fertility issues, but I just haven't grasped the concept. I'm waiting for the Sear's repair man to come take a look at our washer and dryer. Nothing is wrong with them, it is just the yearly free check up that Sear's provides. I'm grateful that they are coming, I just hate to wait. Oh well, they said they would be here between 8-12, so just under 2 hours to go.
With hesitation I realize that my Saturday afternoons have changed. BYU football is back. I do have to give my husband some credit, he only follows BYU football and Jazz basketball. It could be worse. So since I am going to be married to Nate forever, I am trying to learn to like watching sports. We went to the in-law's house to watch the game with everyone and we had a blast.
first game of the season means:
a super excited husband
the cutest nephew for some entertainment (P.S. Keith, thank you for letting me play with you when I got bored, which was often. You are so much fun. Tell your mom that I missed her. Congrats on the new teeth!)
a lot of people were on the edge of their seat
and a lot of excited fans when BYU won!!!

Hope everyone else enjoyed the game. How many more games are left this season?
