Hi Elder Smith!

Nate's younger brother Zak came home on Friday night from Germany. Zak was serving a mission in Frankfurt, Germany and has been ill for a while now. He is home for a little bit trying get everything diagnosed and figured out. Thanks to everyone who came out to the airport to greet Zak, we know it was short notice. We love Zak and we will sure enjoy seeing him for Christmas! Here are some photos that I took on Friday night.

Romeo and Juliet

Oh my husband is hilarious! So we were wanting to watch tv and nothing good was on. Nate decided to look and see if there were any good movies on demand. He finds the Leonardo DiCaprio version of Romeo and Juliet, you know, the one from the mid '90s. He asks me if I've seen it and if I liked it. I told him that yes, I'd seen it and I asked him if he knew it was a little bit of a different spin on the original Shakespeare version. Nate went ahead and said he wanted to see it. He lasted about 30 minutes and then he was done. I reminded him that I did warn him it was different and this is what he told me, "I just wanted gangs and lots of violence, not people quoting Shakespeare the whole time!" I laughed so hard. But to top it all off, he keeps going around the apartment saying, "Oh Kimberly, oh Kimberly, where art thou?" Oh my, it is going to be work trying to expose this man to some culture.

Shopping and Scriptures

Nate and I went shopping yesterday morning. Not crazy 4 am shopping, but we went out at 9 am to get some Christmas decorations and wrapping paper while it was half off, and we also had to do a little grocery shopping. While we out we saw this license plate and I had to take a picture of it. I totally made Nate follow the car until it stopped so I could get a semi-decent picture. Where did they stop? None other than McDonald's! Poor Nate was forced to follow them into the drive-thru so I could take a picture. I'm sure we looked ridiculous. I just figured that if someone went to all the trouble to put a scripture verse on their license plate maybe I should take notice. Here is the verse:

3 Nephi 14:16 "Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?"

Just thought I'd share our little discovery with all of you.

Thankful

Nathan and I had a great Thanksgiving. I worked last night and was scheduled to work tonight, but I was able to find someone to work for me. What a blessing. Nate and I spend this afternoon eating and socializing with his extended family. We enjoyed good food and better company. Driving home from American Fork, Nate asked if I would like to go spend the evening with my mom, since I no longer had to work. Of course I said yes! We played some card games and some Wii and we would have had a lot of fun, except that my mom totally cheated and won every card game. You think by now she would know that I like to win. Now I'm exhausted (I only slept two hours this morning), but I just wanted to acknowledge the good day we had and I know that I am so blessed and have so many things to be thankful for, not only today, but all year long. Nathan and I want to wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving!

Babysitters Club

Nathan's company gives each of their employees a paid day off for their birthdays. Nate took his day off today. It was so fun to have him home with me during the day, I love spending time with him. For a few hours today we had the opportunity to babysit our nephew Keith. That little boy is so well behaved! Keith hardly fussed and was full of smiles and cute baby noises, we had a blast with him.

Keith played some X-Box in Nate's new gaming chair...

Keith and Nate installed a new hard-drive...

Keith learned how to type...

and then both Keith and Nate played on the computer. All in all, we had a great time. Thanks for coming over Keith!

Morning Musings

Oh man, I'm pretty sure that I need every one of these fabrics. I have a ton of sewing projects that I want to make. The creativity wheels are turning!! I have some days off coming up and I want to run my own little sweat shop. I hope it all turns out cute! I am determined to turn myself into an awesome seamstress.

P.S. When Nate and I were dating, one night I wore his jacket home and kept it for a few days. I kept it on my bed because it smelled like Nate's cologne and it would remind me of him. Would it be weird if I sprayed my pillow with a little bit of his cologne? I am seriously considering it.

P.P.S. Can you believe we are a third of the way through November? Yes, I am listening to the Christmas music on the radio and loving it.
